Three children walk into Elvis Cole's office and ask him to find their father who has been missing for 11 days. Cole's search takes him from his home base in Los Angeles to Seattle. There he discovers the father is a counterfeiter who is running from the Russian mafia because he skimmed some counterfeit money from a job he did for them.

When caught Clark Hewitt, the father, turns states evidence, which puts one of the Russians in jail and puts him in the witness protection program. Clark and his kids skipped out on the program and have been on the lam ever since.

Cole returns to LA and continues the search only to discover murder, mayhem, and treachery.
