On Turning 65

June 2010 was a momentous month for me. I turned 65 on the 25th.

On the 1st I joined the rolls of Medicare users and on June 9th I received my first pair of hearing aids. The aids have opened a whole new world of sound, a world I didn't know I was missing. The second night I had them I heard three mockingbirds, loud and clear. When I turned off the aids, I could barely, just barely hear the birds and then it seemed as if there were only one bird. Amazing!

Also on the 9th I set aside my childish fears of needles and had my left ear pierced. With Sherry's help I made a video and posted it on Youtube. Periodically I will post additional videos related to my hearing aids, my pierced ear, and being 65!
